The last one was very good, don't know what you are talking about there. Ghost story was pretty average, I'll give you that, but it was mostly because of the plot making it so, kinda unavoidable to an extent.
And he hasn't taken so long because he is taking his time, he got divorced, married to someone else, and moved into a new house, so he basically wasn't writing at all for a while. Hopefully he gets back in a groove now that he's started writing again.
