Alexandria Senior High (La.) defensive tackle Jacobian Guillory is not just one of the best trench players in the country for the 2020 class, but he's also one of the best powerlifters in America - making him all the more attractive to college football teams as they search for help in the middle of the defensive line.
This past weekend, the 2019 USA Powerlifting High School National Championships were held in Alexandria, bringing in high school powerlifters from around the country to compete against some of Louisiana's best. And Guillory answered the call.
The ASH boy's team captured a national championship over the four-day competition, paced by Guillory, who squatted a meet-best 740 pounds. He missed on his second attempt at 780 pounds, but upped his result from last year of 700 pounds.
He's also put together some impressive marks in addition to 700 pounds in the power lift last season, setting a 370-pound bench mark and 625 pound deadlift, both of which are likely to improve with his showings in 2019. Guillory, now a two-time national championship powerlifting winner, is also a multi-time state champion in the super heavyweight division for powerlifting. He's now been a part of three national team titles at ASH.
At 6-foot-2 and 331 pounds, the junior is already ranked by the 247Sports Composite as a Top 150 prospect nationally, a Top 15 defensive tackle in the 2020 class and a top five player in Louisiana this cycle.
LSU and Alabama are considered the frontrunners at this stage, with all the predictions made on his 247Sports Crystal Ball going in for the Tigers.
Here's what 247Sports regional analyst Gabe Brooks said about Guillory's game this offseason.
"Guillory is an intriguing prospect because he's a bull at the point of attack whose powerlifting exploits show up in his ability to stalemate the run game at the line of scrimmage," Brooks said. "He's frame-limited, but that may not matter because of his overwhelming strength. He will likely be a good fit for a nose spot in an odd-man front."
Guillory landed on USA Today’s Second-Team All-Louisiana following his junior season. He is also one of Louisiana's best in the shot put, adding to his three-sport resume. He has a personal best of 54-feet in the shot put, which is a shade better than LSU defensive tackle signee Joseph Evans, who won a Louisiana state title in shot put at the 1A classification with a throw of 53-feet last season.
Guillory is expected to make a college decision ahead of his senior year.
Here is a look at Guillory in action as a junior at AHS last season.

It kills me when I read these articles describing these kids as "frame limited"
In what the hell world is a 6'2" 330lb kid who squats 700+lbs and benches 375lbs frame limited??
If he was 6'9" 400lbs, they would just find something else to bitch about.
frick these press people, they have no idea the drive in anybody's heart. Jacobian is an absolute beast,if he comes in here willing to work as hard as he can,the kid will almost be guaranteed to be a very high pick in the NFL draft.

setting a 370-pound bench mark
is that considered a lot these days? I know it is probably strict form in a meet, probably don't allow the help of the spotters to keep the bar moving or bouncing the bar off at the bottom, but doesn't seem that much really.
