GC is not taking the hit, so to speak, it's just money off the profit margin. They're moving stuff and shipping stuff in volume. Keep in mind too that they surely have corporate accounts with all the major carriers that gets them percentage discounts based on their shipping volume, frequency, etc. I have a FedEx account for my shop that gets me a small discount on shipping, monthly billing versus pay at the counter, and I don't ship anything near the volume GC moves.
