Yes. Trial lawyers love to do this. It drums up sympathy that it's the evil insurance companies that won't give this poor hurt person their money. They say, that xx insurance company has all of this money while poor old Wanda doesn't have a pot to piss in. The jurors, then sympathize and say, "you know, maybe she should get something", then bitch about their insurance rates going up for "no reason". It's going up, because of your decision to award the plaintiff an outrageous sum. Most jurors, however, doesn't understand the correlation between lawsuits and insurance premiums, and just think it's rich company should pay out.
