Pretty much.


A trade before was predicated on getting Zion and/or getting picks and supporting players.

With Zion in the fold and with Jrue as the veteran leader, we have a lot more options available to us should AD not opt in.

We still wouldn’t get full “star” value for AD but we would be able to get more pieces which are directly useful to us and some additional ones we can either try out or can flip elsewhere for something we can use.


AD returning is the preferred scenario but I see him being dead set on a larger market, desperately chasing the belief that he can get bigger endorsements in a bigger market. Kind of ignoring the fact that he doesn’t have a personality and he looks like a goon.
