Rocket Man - Advance Screening

Just left Fandango early showing.
Thought it was great, and my expectations were pretty low based on the revelation that it was going to be a musical-style film, rather than a movie that featured Elton John's music the way Bohemian Rhapsody did Queen's.
Taron Edgerton was fantastic, and the faux outrage static from the LGBTQEIEIO crowd about not having a gay man portray EJ is utterly ridiculous. Edgerton did all his own vocals, and there were moments you forget you're not watching Elton himself.
Much more touching than I expected.
BoRap set the bar pretty high, but Rocket Man is an entirely different animal.

Is that the movie about our Attorney General?

Nah, the Barr show doesn't really get cranking until mid-June.
I think this was the Kim Jong Un biopic.

Elton John have Egerton his blessing. For Christ's sake, they've sung together. The LGBT community can suck a dick.

That should be all anyone needs to hear. I’ll see it. A list and all

Rocketman was amazing, so amazing that I felt unfulfilled. The parts in the movie were perfection, I felt like I was actually watching Elton, but I wanted more.. I needed more. When the movie ended I wanted them to go further. I would've been happy with a 4 hour movie.

That's a great way to describe the experience. Spot on.
With the last two biopics being dead on, I want similar treatment for George Michael's and Prince's stories.

He also has experience.

Thanks for sharing, I'm really looking forward to this one.

I'd totally forgotten he was in Sing. The movie itself was miserable, but his performance was solid.
