Sounds logical and level headed. Sounds like how things get done in the real world all the time. I’m sure this board will hate it.

Also for anyone worried about losing trade value. We could just as easily sign a hypothetical supermax guy(AD in this scenario) and he suffer a John Wall like injury early next year months into a 5 year deal. Is that really better than losing out on trade value? Injuries are simply an inherent risk in sports.

I don't disagree that injuries are inherent risk but as opposed to your hypothetical you already know that Davis on a short extension has one foot out the door and will leave unless his unknown criteria for being competitive are met.

My question to people who are fine with placating AD for another year: what do you think his requirements will be and do you realistically expect this team to hit them in a year's time?

frick AD.
I don’t want his attitude infecting the new culture of this franchise. I’d prefer to rebuild with a young core.
The more I hear about ADs immaturity the more I want nothing to do with him and can’t wait to trade him.

He would have to mature over night and man up to the stupidity he displayed the last 5 months, as well as get a new agent. He’d have to win over his teammates not only vocally, but on the court as well.
He’s a quitter and a loser.

Thanks for all the 33 win seasons supposed top 5 player, I mean self proclaimed best player in the world.
