It was the offseason if I remember right. I'm wondering if they do suspend him for violating company policy does he have a legal case to get that suspension thrown out. For example a company can't legally put in place a policy forbidding you to take a prescription if it doesn't effect you on the job. In this case during the offseason it would not effect him on the job.

Regular jobs ban use of legal substances right before or during work hours.

The NFL isn't a regular job. The substances on the banned list can NEVER be taken (without a legit doctor's consent under special circumstances). Doesn't matter if it was the offseason or not.

That said, he never was proven to have USED the marijuana in any way, so I think at best they'd ding him for two games for conduct policy violation at most, but I doubt even that.
