The criticisms of this show jumped the shark a long time ago.
You need to rewatch the first seasons for a refresher about what death is about on that show.
If you're ok with the family reunion and comforting that went on, maybe the Young and the Restless is more your speed.
Jaime should have been finished off by Euron instead of surviving a couple of deep stab wounds, and maybe the Hound should have put an end to Cersei when she was 3 feet away from him on the stairs.

I did laugh my arse off at that. She just kind of sashayed past him like: “Ok, I think I’m just going to leave now”.
