Why don’t they just get a real job ? We had a guy with a wife and two kids leave us about a year ago to drive for Uber. He was making descent money with us around 50k plus benefits/ bonus/ insurance. I told him he was making a mistake leaving, he came back asking for his job recently but it had already been filled. Uber/Lyft should be supplemental income only

the overwhelming majority of drivers do have real jobs and just use this as a side gig for more money.
I have had a handful of uber drivers that are foreigners that do it as a full time gig though, but these are your "work as hard as I can to provide for my family" types and it's paid off well for them. These are the ones that will start driving around 5am though making runs to the airport and drive until 7 or 8pm.
