I don’t think the ending is fundamentally different than GRRM’s.

i think "the ending" he gave them was that jon kills dany (likely after the conquest is complete). the rest they're making up as they go, i believe

I mean I think you’re right, I’m mainly talking about the execution. I think Its the fault of rushing the last 2 seasons, they should’ve both been 10 episodes each.
I’m just using the Euron vs Rheagal clip as an example. You’re telling me that flying way up in the sky on dragons and Dany doesn’t see an entire fleet? If she can’t see them how do they see her well enough to go 3 for 3 on Rheagal and then conveniently miss her on Drogon. It’s just been bad execution after bad execution on big moments.
