A man and his son are both in a helicopter crash. The father dies on the scene, but the boy is rushed to the nearest hospital.
When he arrives the operating surgeon says "I can’t operate on this child, because he is my child"! How is this possible?

Because the surgeon is the husband of the dead guy and the other adopted "father" of the injured boy?
What am I missing?
