D&D have bungled plenty of great moments from the books. Wouldn't surprise me if that's the case again

I've seen the latest interview GRRM had regarding the ending. He goes back and forth alot during that interview. For every comment he makes regarding a similar ending, he always makes another that puts that comment into question.

In reality, hes speaking of something he has not actually written, so he has no idea. He have story points which you could argue have spoiled certain events. But the ending he makes has to wrap up multiple plot points that the show.

Never incorporated in the first place

Eliminated in production (see Dorne)

Simplified it by fusing certain characters into others (Sansa-Jane Poole, Jon Snow and the mystery Aegon)
