Ben and whoever else was announcing talk about the rash of pitching inquires in the SEC this year. Didn't hear the entire conversation, maybe someone else can comment.
ben said one difference is that with people specializing in pitching, they are throwing max effort on every pitch younger and younger. he said in the past, getting 2 groundouts and a popup was good enough. now you have to blow hitters away with high velocity and tons of movement. it's definitely an interesting phenomenon.
