But he is coming out with a car with no steering wheel. Oh and did you hear? He is going to introduce his own insurance product. Because state insurance commissioners just let anyone offer insurance. Especially those with hardly any cash to provide as reserves.

Building cars in a parking lot shows they still don't have a clue how to actually manufacture.
The plant in Fremont had a capacity of 400K+ when it was run by GM/Toyota. Tesla isn't anywhere near that.
Musk is a good salesman. Nothing more, Nothing less.

That's the original rags to riches of Jim Inhofe and the Inhofe family of Oklahoma. He funded his US Congressional Campaigns after creating an insurance company so his family could get cheap insurance and have others pay for it.
Started it with hardly any money.
ETA: not a mention of his insurance business dealings on his wiki page. lol

Lawsuit defendants - identified as Quaker Life directors - are James M. Inhofe, Guy M. Anthony, John W. Sublett, Thomas P. Henson, Robert Edward Clark, Robert J. Thompson, Kay Inhofe, James M. Inhofe II, Perry D. Inhofe II, Crosby G. Bryan, and Marilyn Inhofe Davis. Tulsa insurance executive Perry "Bud" Inhofe Jr., who sued and was sued by his brother Jim in 1988, said he is not the person of similar name listed in Thursday's court action. James Inhofe II and Perry Inhofe II are sons of the Republican congressman. Kay Inhofe is the congressman's wife and Marilyn Inhofe Davis is the congressman's sister, according to Bud Inhofe. In 1986, Quaker Life Insurance Co. collapsed financially. Placing it in receivership helped Jim Inhofe avoid filing for bankruptcy.
