think giving schools the ability to extend eligibility will be an option but the scholarship question and roster cap limits are areas I am intrigued how they handle.

Given how this was an extreme reaction to an unprecedented situation there could well be a unique expansion of eligibility and scholarship limits to accomodate the situation. The required funding could be covered by the revenue for championship events.

I thought about this last night but you wonder how the current pandemic could impact recruiting, specifically relating to the Olympics.

If the Olympics is potentially pushed back, multiple signees may push back their college careers. UCLA, Florida and Utah potentially are impacted by that.

I’m still against allowing seniors another year, as horrible as that may sound.

It would greatly benefit the teams who have the biggest senior classes. Those teams also have the biggest income freshmen to replace them. You have other teams who had one or two seniors and only two or so coming in and they will be competing with a team with less athletes on it and far less experience. If you limit scholarships/athlete totals then how is that fair to the freshmen who are suddenly cut from a team and left trying to find a last minute place to go? You just can’t. As harsh as it is, their careers are done. I don’t see any fair way to give them another season. Maybe someone will come up with an idea that works but I haven’t heard of one yet.
