I have that saw and it's a great one. The newer version has wider ripping capacity and a higher RPM motor but if you are cutting sheet stock then you'll want to use a circular saw with a ripping guide anyway. The pinion rack guide is solid and once dialed in, with a good ripping blade, will cut very precisely. Mine will rip hardwoods within 0.002", good enough for anything you'll ever need to do with a jobsite saw. Don't plan on running dado blades though, the arbor doesn't have the capacity.
