This fire is terrible but much of the cathedral was damaged in the French Revolution and rebuilt and changed in the 19th century including the spire that was rebuilt in a more ornate style and most of the glass in the rose windows was replaced in a new design style. Many sculptures and ornamentation were also rebuilt.

You are overstating it.
Yes, many changes were made but the nuts and bolts were still the same.
