From my vantage point in the southeast corner of Tiger Stadium the kick looked good. Even Arnsparger thought the kick was good. It was only when Ronnie Lewis lowered his helmet with both hands did I realise the kick failed, and the Tigers didn't win, and likewise didn't win the SEC that year.

It always looked good to me too. I’ve dvr’d and rewound multiple times. That was back when CFB still used the short goal posts and the kickers used a tee so that thing went sky high. Impossible to tell for sure.
