I believe the reason he was suspended was because his boss(es) asked him to attend a meeting and give context to what was leaked and he refused the meeting. Regardless of whether the NCAA was in attendance, the FBI was in attendance or the KGB was in attendance, when Will Wade refused the meeting he left his boss(es) no choice.

Nobody disagrees Will Wade had the right to shun the meeting (and, in fact, it may have been the legally prudent thing to do), but it doesn't change the responsibility his boss(es) have to maintain control over their employees. When your boss summons you to a meeting - You go.

That being said, I hope Will Wade survives as our coach (I really like him) and I hope Joe Alleva is fired before noon today (and that has nothing to do with this specific incident). I dislike Alleva on so many other more important issues.
