When I was taking the trash to the road at night as a kid, I'd tuck tail and run back to the house the moment I turned around if a car was coming down the road. I had an absurd fear that they were coming for me. That was irrational.
The difference is that I didn't go to Twitter saying it's a shame that kids in middle class neighborhoods have to treat every car at night as a drive by threat.

Women get abused when they are alone, not in groups of 2 or more. It’s not all that irrational. In fact in the last year or two 60 minutes did a special on how hotels are more frequently becoming target areas for predators.
I mean as males we can mock it. We never have to worry about that. But I’m not going to hate on any woman for trying to be aware of her surroundings when alone. Calling that irrational is an insult to women

Again, there's nothing wrong with that. No one is hating on women for that. Like I said earlier, men and women should both be more aware of their surroundings.
The irrationality comes from the assumption that every man on a hotel elevator has rape on his mind.

Try telling women they shouldn't dress provocatively because of predators - a broad stance that is equally as dumb IMO.

I didn’t realize people still thought women are abused because of how they dress.
