I think Will Wade was asked to have this meeting knowing full well his lawyers would tell Will Wade to decline the meeting due to the impending court case
That's ridiculous, Wade didn't need an attorney at the meeting, nor did he have to heed his attorney's advice not to attend. His attorney was just flat wrong.
I don't need an attorney present for me to tell my employer that I am in full compliance with the law, but I cannot answer specific questions due to the on-going investigation. PERIOD - THE END. The NCAA can hear that, and the FBI can subpoena the transcripts of the meeting if they just want to hear me claim innocence and that I can't speak to the details.
Have any of you ever been in high level meetings before? You don't need an attorney to keep you from having diathermia of the mouth, just say what you need to say and shut the frick up.

Alleva has history of poor judgment and reaching conclusions before all the facts are available to him...
He was overly-cautious over the Duke Lacrosse non-incident, but that's about all I can remember.
That said, No, I don't think he's that great of an AD, but then again, I can only think of one or two ADs at LSU in the last 40 years that were worth a damn.

I would say my assumptions are consistent with his MO...
All Wade had to do was show up - anywhere, any time - to a meeting with his boss and reassure him everything was okay. He failed to do that, thus, he was suspended.
Hopefully he does it today and gets re-instated.

It's not about what you think you need, it's about what's smart.
Going into a meeting like that without legal representation is just idiotic. Do you understand that even innocent people can make comments that incriminate themselves?
