Again the reason him and the others didn’t even go to trial over it had a lot more to do with trying to heal relations then with them supposedly not being a traitors.

I know, but you have to understand, Lee and the rest of the Confederates revoked their citizenship when they seceded. So therefore, they could not have been committing treason.
