It's heat of the moment retaliation for having a gun pulled and getting the shite beat out of you by a trashy thug wannabe.

Maybe fine her or something, but a charging a victim of an assault with a felony isn't a good look. The DA obviously agreed.

That doesn't make it less dumb. Jussie got his charges dropped.

Just so we're clear. My thinking people should be held accountable for their actions is the trolling stance here? If you say so

You know what you're doing by comparing this to a bullshite dropping of charges against a guy who fabricated a hate crime.

The situations aren't remotely comparable no matter how hard you try to simplify it down to "holding people accountable for their actions."

Bartenders do a lot of coke and/or other forms of “go faster”.

Clearly, this guy had just done a bump and went into a rage. The fact that the area is becoming bad due to culcha probably also played a role.

Deep ellum is being "uptowned" like crazy right now. The complete opposite of culcha.

I agree with you. Being a victim of assault shouldn't give a person immunity to commit a crime against the assaulter, outside of self defense. If so, where do you draw the line? Can she set his car on fire? Burn his house down?

Probably somewhere between what she did and these.

It's true. It was pretty sketchy about 15 years ago before gentrification, but still an interesting area.

So this all happened because she blocked the exit, and when asked/told to move, the "you can't make me do shite" kicked in and it escalated.

Dumbass dude should have let her call 911, let the cops / tow truck get there and sort it out.

Yep. There's a ton of money being poured into deep ellum. Much safer now than 15ish years ago.

Funny. When the cops slap a phone out of a dude's hand and then jump him, half this board gets on their knees and licks boots.

I don't understand why he even felt the need to have a gun in the first place.

I also don't beat women so maybe I'll never understand

The problem with non-defensive retaliation is that now you've engaged in aggressive, unnecessary, offensive actions. I don't know about in Tennessee but in Louisiana mutual combat is legal. Other than in domestic violence situations, if an officer approaches two people engaged in a violent confrontation, as long as both parties consent to the confrontation and they aren't causing a public disturbance like blocking a sidewalk, damaging non participant or public property or inadvertently involving other people, then neither party can legally be arrested for assault.
