A lot depends on if it is just you or will you be with wife, kids etc. I'll be about 30 minutes away but I'll be having less fun doing a controlled burn.

Blanchard springs caverns, fun for all ages. You can also walk to the spring, recommended, or catch small trout in mirror lake.

If you want a guide for bigger trout drive down to Jack's, the original Jack was a friend of my grandfathers. When Jack was starting up he used to call our guide service and find out what to expect for river conditions.

If you have kids who like to fish its worth the run over to the norfork hatchery and let them try dry run creek. Best chance to catch a giant trout out there. The miracle mile below norfork dam is truly an awesome place to fish for adults as well.

I don't know if they have started music on the town square yet but if you want to hear old bluegrass music played by a bunch of amateurs its kind of neat.

Ozark folk center is fun for small kids and if you are into seeing how things were done on homesteads it is pretty neat for adults. Check out the copper flame painting if you go.

Lots of hiking

Avoid the restaurant that is supposed to look like a biker bar for people who have never seen a biker bar. A lot of food poisoning comes out of that place.
