For a 6th round pick that can turn into a 5th.

Per ESPN

Doesn’t fit their offense anymore. Makes sense to me.

He is everything that Nagy doesn’t want in a RB

Couldn’t catch very well first two years. Not sure about last year. Nagy probably wants backs that you have to at least account for potentially catching the ball.

Seems like an odd move

Averaged 1150 rush yds 8td each year. Pretty solid.

I'd rather the saints give that up for him than sign Murray

Dudes one of the better running backs in the league, they could've at least gotten a decent pick for him

Howard:

3.7 YPC

#37 ranked RB on PFF

Murray:

4.1 YPC

#21 ranked RB on PFF

He is also better in pass protection.

As a Bears fan, I’m not too keen on this move. Feel like they could have got a little better pick probably.

Problem is everyone saw the writing on the wall. Bears made it well known they wanted to move on, so it undercuts the value bc teams think they can just wait until they sign as FA so everyone says no until one team says yes and then everyone goes “oh well shite we would’ve given more than that”

It’s an underrated form of FA that good teams tend to use. You can get a great bargain by throwing away a late round pick that only has a small chance of cracking your roster anyway

I realize all of that. Not a fan of the move in general, but I wish the Bears would have held their desire closer to the vest if they were hell bent on making it anyway.
