Wade has probably heard the tapes as the U.S. attorneys would want to question any defense witness to see what they had to say in context of the whole statement. This does not mean that LSU has a copy. That would be highly doubtful. However, Wade has probably been instructed not to discuss his possible testimony with anyone else. Only he and his lawyer would know the full substance of the tapes. In response to questions by LSU, Wade or his lawyer could only give a generalization of the tapes with no specifics at this point. That is probably why he could not submit to a full question and answer session with compliance and NCAA.
