Well, they did have some very interesting things to point out about the movie from a sociological standpoint. How did society end up seeing the Spartans in this light and why. It isn’t just the comic book. They talked about the myth and propaganda of the Spartans through the ages and why we see the SpartNs the way we do now.
Like one thing to consider. The Spartans didn’t teach martial arts or fencing where every other city state in Greece did. Because they didn’t believe combat should ever get to an individual one on one point.

Never heard this. Kind of surprising. Pretty sure they learned wrestling.
