How is that corruption?
It sounds like just a perk of the position.
No one stole anything.
And the wife prolly just borrowed a few tables and chairs for a crawfish boil when there was no one using them at the time.

Cool cool. Things purchased with public/Univesity dollars? Think you or I, members of the public, could have just walked up and asked to borrow them for a company crawfish boil, as per your hypothetical?

It violates state ethics laws to benefit if in a position to make decisions. Also any gift over a certain amount is against those laws. Every public employee knows this because they have to watch a training video annually and submit the certificate. #theyknew
