They lost @ #1 Alabama, @ #7 LSU, @ #10 Kentucky, and #6 Florida in the regular season. You don't think one of those games going a different way, maybe just maybe results in a different outcome and ranking for them?

Why are you posting their at the time rankings?

LSU was projected to go 7-5 or 8-4 mainly because their schedule was going to be filled with a top 10 Miami, top 10 Auburn, and a top 15 Miss St.

LSU's schedule underachieved just as much as LSU football overachieved

I'm not, other than Alabama, my apologies, that was an oversight, so change the 1 with a 2, doesn't really make a material difference. LSU and Florida finished the season 6 and 7 and Kentucky finished 10th. If I did "at the time of the game," Florida was unranked, Kentucky was unranked, and LSU was ranked 5th.

That's why they play the games. LSU, relative to the other teams in the country this year, earned a 6/7 ranking at the end of the season based on who they beat and who they lost to. If you disagree with the polls, you are entitled to that opinion, but it's still just that, your opinion. We all have them. people disagreeing with yours doesn't make them "stupid," as you so eloquently put it.

LSU finished the regular season with the #1 ranked strength of schedule according to both TeamRankings and S&P+. I believe we had #1 SoS in the Sagarin rankings too, but I can’t seem to find that data from before the conference championships. Obviously the SoS ranking suffered a bit following conference championships and the CFP, but our regular season schedule was difficult regardless.

FWIW, S&P+ predicted the average top 5 team would win 78.9% of its games against our regular season schedule. LSU won 75% (10-2 would have been 83.3%).
