re: Digital Picture Frame

I like the Pixstar frames.
The software is very simple, but the controls border on difficult to use. The included remote makes it a bit easier to use, but the main reason I got it was the feature to email pictures to the frame.
I got one as a mother's day gift for my grandmother so all the children/grandchildren could email her pictures - and she doesn't have to do anything and new pictures roll in almost daily (3 years later!)
It syncs with online albums from essentially anything you'd want it to sync with.


I haven't looked at brands or features in about three years, but probably 5 other family members have gone and bought the same frame for themselves or as a gift since then, and I haven't heard any complaints.



If networking features aren't important to you, and you just want to play from a usb stick, you may be able to get away with cheaper or even something like a used TV- most have digital picture frame-like settings.


If memory serves, the big competitor that I almost got was Nixplay. It had a similar feature set. I forget why I went with this one over that one.
