You're conflating two separate issues. He's talking about what the Bible teaches us, not what you think it means. The Crusades were called upon by the Pope to aid the Byzantines after yup, you guessed it, a Muslim horde captured their territory.

More to the point, if you use violence to spread Christianity, good luck finding ANY quotes from Jesus supporting it.

That's wonderful. By the fourth crusade, they were sacking Constantinople, who were, yup, you guessed it, fellow Christians.
