Crime is out of control. Teenagers are murdering, stealing cars at gunpoint, and breaking into cars almost everyday. This is happening all over town, even the nice areas. A recent Belmont graduate who was a professional singer and musician was approached outside his house by four kids ages 12-16. They asked for his wallet and car keys. He gave them his wallet but refused his car keys. They shot him dead. Another person was shot tonight at a gas station by the Titan's stadium. The person was driving a late model nice car. I have lived here my whole life and have never seen anything like it.

I thought Memphis was the bad city in Tennessee and Nashville was a booming and idyllic up and coming place with a hot real estate market?

Crime follows money. So do hookers. You take the bad with the good.

Didn’t see any of this when I was there for the Music City bowl a few years ago. This is sad to hear.

Was going to take the family this weekend. Thanks for the post, we’re definitely canceling the trip.

surely you’re not canceling based on a single post on a message board?

He lives there and said it’s never been this bad.

I’m not risking my family’s safety.

I’m just saying do a little research on it. You don’t know if he or she lives in Nashville or not.

Pretty sure people have not always told the truth on message boards

Don’t believe you. According to the posters here this stuff only happens in BR. Everywhere else is heavenly blissful.

I'm from Memphis and live in Nashville (Franklin) now. Nashville natives have a really unwarranted arrogance about their city. It has plenty of crime. Not as much as Memphis, but it is not the greatest city on earth like they think it is.
