Yep and it scratches and chips easier though not all marbles are created equal. Carrara, the white marble with gray veining that most people are familiar with and is a popular look is really soft. I always tell my customers if you have a very active kitchen/are a messy cook/ aren’t the most meticulous at quickly cleaning up spills and messes it isn’t the material for you. It’s one of the reason the composite quartz products are so popular . You cans get a similar look with little upkeep and maintenance. Other types of marble or much harder and less prone to etching, staining, chipping.
