Johnny's Pizza in Monroe is the best pizza I've ever had. Not one of those new age places that tries to make healthy (cardboard tasting) pizza; its the good greasy stuff!

don't know the name of it or exactly where it is, but someone may know....A few years ago on my way back to Baton Rouge from the Strawberry Festival in Ponchatoula, I stopped at a bakery/pastry place. It may have had "Bavarian" (not surprising) in its name, but I really don't remember. It was excellent. And I mean truly excellent...some of the restaurants recommended here people have sentimental attachment to, but the food is mediocre at best.
Taste of Bavaria, about a mile west of I-55 in Ponchatoula on Hwy 22. I think they are open for breakfast and lunch only, but I try to time my passes though that area so I can stop and eat. It is incredibly good.
