ordered a pallet of it from Home Depot. a bunch of it was damaged but they made good on all of it. surprisingly the replacement boxes came UPS and were in perfect shape.

I used engineered hard wood for my living room. Not much more expensive, but can get expensive.

I haven't ordered laminate but builddirect has the best quality and prices for online flooring. They also send free samples. We have about 4000sq ft from them and everything has been significantly less than local comparative quality wood.

Not that difficult but you need to know what you're doing. It's time consuming if you have a lot of sqft and by yourself

Not terribly difficult, if you have the right tools and do a little homework on how to handle the tricky points. However, I found out just how out of shape I really was...you basically go from laying on the floor to getting up and walking to a chop saw thousands of times before you are done. I was sore as shite after a few days of doing that.

it easy as hell unless youre completely retarded. I'd suggest using a chop saw with a good blade like a diablo blade. it will make your work go much faster. also gonna need a jig saw with a good blade. shouldnt take more than a couple days by yourself. they sell a kit at lowes that has the tamping tools you will need and the spacers for your expansion gaps.

We are doing luxury vinyl in our next house. Bad arse kids destroy nice wood floors. I’ll wait til the kids are out the house then do something nicer

If I were doing it over again this is the direction I would go. There are some really nice versions of this out now and its pretty indestructible. I also have younger boys.
