They are bad arse, and were on the verge of extinction. Still critically endangered.

The reintroduction program has actually been more successful than I thought it would be. In fact in the last 2 years, for no particular reason, a couple of whooping cranes in our area that have never migrated picked up and went to Canada and came back as they used to many decades ago. This was stunning to the people involved with the program. A huge stride forward that was totally unexpected. Now what if that's the ones that get shot.

No matter what is posted someone always has to be opposite. It’s like there love to try and stir up some type of argument. Why can’t we just all agree that it takes a trashy person to intently shoot a endangered bird just for the hell of it. Just because they don’t benefit you directly doesn’t mean they don’t benefit the ecosystem in some way.
