How about stop with the child talk and tell me what it is about whooping cranes that appeals to you
I think it's you that needs to explain yourself. Why do they NOT appeal to you? At least enough to keep them from going extinct? I love, and respect nature. I'll kill the hell out of individual animals, as long as I'm going to eat them, and there is a viable population. But, humans are a fricking plague on the earth and many species have gone or are going extinct because of us. And, it's people with your mindset, of "what's that animal even bring to the table, anyway?" that are largely responsible. Nature is a thing as a whole. You don't get to pick and choose which parts you think are best. Sure, other animals can fill the role of the whooping crane. But, who wants nature to get whittled down to just a few different species? Diversity is one of nature's greatest appeals.
