Appreciate the response but we can’t do international due to her passport being expired, and we’ve been to the Smokies many times due to both of us being from TN.

NP. Was thinking "special trip". "Short time". Don't want it all caught up traveling.

BTW, had some friends that just got back from Blackberry Farms. Pricey, but talk about something special! And it's in TN. Just sayin'.

But, but back to the OP..

How about...

California's Monterey Peninsula? The California coast is spectacular! Big Sur. Ventana Inn. Wow. LINK Carmel is magical with a number of quaint cottages to rent. You could stay in San Francisco going or coming back for the night. Go visit the quaint towns of Sausalito and Tiberon. Nothing better than having dinner and looking at San Francisco across the bay at night. Great day hiking on Angel Island. Alcatraz. Hell, San Francisco would be a great trip.

Been to New Orleans? Lived there for 4 years. The restaurants! OMG. March would be great. Blow it out and stay in The Royal Sonesta. We stayed in the Hotel Mazarin on Bienville a few years ago. Completely redone. Great stay.

I would echo the Olympic Peninsula as well, but again, not much time to do it right. We LOVED Lake Crescent Lodge.

Let us know what you end up with and congrats to her! Know the feeling when you get that done.
