If you want a minimalist approach, get a knife with a gut hook, if you're looking for a kit, keep the gut hook separate from the skinning knife.

I think I’d rather have the hook on my main blade for less shite to have. But I’ll add a boning knife and a few other tools for a make shift “do all kit” at this point.
