Does anyone have any tips on building a rack mounted computer? I've built a few of my own computers but nothing with this type of space constraint. I am building a new house and it will have a central media closet with this rack (SnapAV SR-FS-SYSTEM-DC-27U). I was thinking of rack mounting a computer to directly connect to my projector/tv in the media room to access the computer for basic internet surfing, Office apps and possibly gaming if the machine can be built for it. Is there a more simple solution that I am missing?

I have a rosewill 4u rackmount case that has a custom built server.

Just like building a normal PC except I bought the wrong rails and it was a pain in the arse to get the rails I bought to work

So basically just make sure I get the right case and rails?

I would try to find a 2u case that works with stock intel CPU coolers if you're going that route. 4U cases are bulky and have so much dead space.

Only reason I went with the rosewill 4u case is because it was like $75, and all the nicer rackmount cases are like $200+
