I have to agree with Earl.

We did much better this past season than I had anticipated. I didn't think we'd be terrible, but overall I'm pleased with the results.

With that being said, those saying Miles did this and he was scraping by and all that is utter garbage.

Some refuse to give Miles credit and that's their problem. The debate about Miles vs Saban whatever will never end so it's pretty pointless to get so deep into the debate about it.

I give O credit for A. The recruiting he's done this season and B. We got back to a NY6 bowl.

But there is still work to do. I think that's a fair enough statement.

Roger’s become a deranged O sycophant. He seethes anger at any criticism of O. Look at how much they extol last year as some paragon of LSU achievement. A three loss season, yet they act as if we won a natty.

The O sycophants telll is it’s raining, but we can see them pissing on our legs.

It is still funny how those that dislike O love to brag about the classes of Les based on star appeal, but knowingly leave out the part about trenches and even LB from when chavis was here. Can easily have top 10 classes based upon skill position players and still be very weak in key areas. But then, you know that already. You are smart.

And you aren't even worse, in the negative direction? All you O haters can only focus on 3 losses. I get it, it is your only talking point. You refuse to acknowledge the overwhelming number of positive trends, and the fact was, as much as you hate it, it WAS our highest finish in 7 years. In fact, it took a ref screwing to keep us from equalling the regular season that resulted in the highest ever finish of your hero.

Do you think O has fixed those problems?

Trends. I love that about you. You’re all about some sort of ephemeral accomplishments. That’s the O mystique.

Don't put me in the same house with OP please. He was trolling. I actually was a Les Miles diehard much longer than most, up until Wisconsin 2016. He did a lot of great things for lsu. Fact is though, he took over a championship roster, loaded in the trenches. He left a lot of talented players, but there was a huge dropoff in the trenches from 2005 and 2016.

So lsu isn't trending up?

Has he fixed the problem? Idk. I definitely think we will have one of the most complete teams, with experience, since 2012. Time will tell.

We have two data points for O. Yes, the second one has trended up from the first. Hardly enough data to make an assessment about the program overall under his watch.

The #6 finish is a trend up from the last 7 years. Enjoy your day, if you can. I'm excited about the direction of the football program.

How about the three losses?

Miles inherited a loaded team primed by you know who. Coach 'O' inherited a team that was one step away from a dumpster fire.

This is complete bull shite.

Please explain? I would love to see what ya got??

Miles was slowly killing this program. He was recruiting on a high level, but the players were not being coached up. Anyone could have won with what saban left at LSU.

Sorry saban haters but it’s true

How many times did Les and his assorted OC’s get shut out by tGumps? I’ll hang up and listen.

Sorry OP, I can fix a lot of things, but I can’t fix stupid.

Shocking, I say shocking, that a guy with miles in his username defends miles.

To answer your question, I know 8 consecutive quarters where miles didn't score a TD against bama.

I think that's more perception than fact. Most people feel Miles was great his first three years and in 2011. He was on top of the game.

However this thread deals with the end of Miles tenure. I was 100% in his court until the Wisconsin game. As a matter of fact, I supported Miles in 2015 more than I support the current coaching staff.

What the end of Miles tenure showed me was that no one is irreplaceable, all good coaches stay too long and it isn't going to matter who the HC is if you can keep talent flowing through the program.

There's only 2-3 elite coaches in the game. The rest are going to have ups and downs.

That wasn’t his question. Nice pivot though. Must defend O, even if it means defending shutouts by Bama. Pathetic, but not surprising.
