LSU has not performed "great this year" but the scores have been disappointing given what other teams are looking like and the score they have been getting. This year seems really bad compared to other years. I understand its subjective and all but there are some major discrepancies and a lot of over inflation. I think the Florida vs OU meet a couple weeks ago is all the evidence you need.

It seems this discrepancy has carried over to the Super Six at times, especailly on floor where LSU performs their swaggering routines and others do more pedestrian routines yet LSU does not seem to benefit.

Last year it seemed the judges got caught in the momentum of Peng Peng Lee and her rising tide lifted all of her teammates scores. LSU had their incredible vault finish but didn't receive near the credit and ultimately got edged out. It would be nice to just have that type of favoritism one year and see what happens.

I am very proud of this team and what they did over such a long weekend. Got a nice road score and a season high. They really needed those 197 scores to help with RQS.

Scoring was just absurd yesterday. I felt there were some major overscores and then the judges would turn around and go too low.

For example, Ferrer hits her bars and goes 9.9 It was a good set but there are small issues there but sure, 9.9 at home with a stuck cold dismount. The problem is Finnegan comes along and does a gorgeous set with just a tiny tiny hop on her dismount and also goes 9.9 Even with her tiny hop it was a better set than Ferrer but the judges didn't separate them at all.

The worst judging happened on beam. Edney had a major break, at least 2 tenths and her SV was only a 9.8 since she didn't do the leap series (must have been a mental break because they all have backup plans for this case). How did she score 9.65 out of a 9.8 SV? With that major break, even if you take off only .15 are the judges saying they saw NOTHING else to deduct? She would have scored a 10 if she hit her leap series? I highly doubt it.

Floor was just a joke. Finnegan was a 10 all the way. I am glad to know one judge gave it to her but it is baffling one judge took an entire tenth off. I think Edney and Kelley were fine at 9.95 Edney actually bounced slightly back on the arabian although it looked stuck from the camera angle in real time and her technique on that skill is just off this year. Kelley always has a low chest on her double layout, so taking half a tenth there is no big deal. It kind of evened out though because Desiderio was a little too high and Campbell's score was just a joke, but it would have been dropped anyway.

It is too bad we don't get the ridiculous scores of UCLA or Oklahoma but at least it is even across the SEC. No one in the SEC has gotten a 10 and I have seen quite a few routines that would have in the past. I just worry that at Nationals this favoritism will be ingrained and the judges will automatically be giving out 10's to Ohashi on floor and Ross on bars so long as there is no obvious error while gymnasts like Finnegan and Thomas will be trying their best to be perfect for a 9.95
