There’s a fine line between doing something distasteful because you have to, and doing something because you enjoy doing it.

A man does what he has to do. A savage enjoys knifing God’s creatures.

A byproduct of running dogs on hogs is you are going after them instead of letting them come to a trap or a baited pile. They have no natural predator to drive them away from an area other then lack of food.

They are like locust. The come in, eat everything in site, and then move on. In the mean time they destroy the land and kill or drive away everything else that was once there.

Going at them with dogs takes the fight to them so to speak. It puts them at a disadvantage, and eventually they get tired of the harassment, and move on.

Those that will catch a boar only to turn them into a Barr hog are not doing any favors. The logic of taking it out of the gene pool is a total farce. Another boar is more than happy to play the role of Jody for him in his absence, all the while the Barr hog is still tearing up the land, and killing everything it can.
