Very poor wireless (LTE and 3G) access in PMAC w/ Verizon

Anyone else have similar issues? Any suggestions for a service that works better on campus, including home football games?

Not AT&T. They are terrible in the PMAC.

I have ATT and my service sucks around LSU.
My friend has Verizon and it’s just as shitty. Little better during football games but not basketball

The PMAC seems to be a a deadzone for Verizon
I was able to get LTE in the concourse when hitting the concessions, but in my seats was a no go.

Little to no AP’s servicing 5k people.
What you expect will happen? Lol
Kinda shocked about that in all seriousness. Normally large venues are oversaturated with RF and capacity:

Tiger stadium has a DAS but the third party manager of it sucks major arse. They seem to not give two fricks about service or maintenance. The stadium has all the radios it needs to provide 5 bars to every customer inside the stadium.
PMAC does not have a DAS. I think LSU doesn't want to invest any more $$$ in the PMAC until they decide to either renovate/demo the building

It works fine in Tiger Stadium and the Superdome with much bigger crowds, so I'm going to go with it being something structural with the PMAC. ETA: Better explained above

PMAC was scheduled to install a DAS a few years ago (pre-WW) but those plans fell through leading to the current holding pattern.
FWIW, building the type of wireless infrastructure to support cellular/wifi connections inside stadiums is absurdly expensive $10-15M for Tigs, $5-8M for PMAC would be my guess

It's all about having hundreds/thousands of "radios" dividing the stadium up into chunks, each taking their share of the demand for service then riding a common backbone to a server room that "delivers" the traffic to the carriers

Well, shite. I cannot even receive text messages until I walk up to the concourse. Yep, first world probs I know...

Absolutely hilarious you brought up the DAS because I was a lead Engineer for the TMO launch of those products.
Pretty nifty stuff to get multiple bands out in small form factor. I may still have pictures of it from the rack. Let me check.
I am generally gonna assume 1700/2100 is what's desired.
I know CRAN was used for the Super Bowl in Minn and went off without a hitch, so I generally assume that's the main product being used in conjunction with small cell units to fill gaps.
Those prices sound right imo.
