GD this is well stated. If only more people would realize this and just get off of social media.
Of course this type of stuff still existed before social media in the form of old lady gossip so you can never truly escape it but you can reduce your exposure to it.

you know, i am still on FB but primarily using it as my own anarchist outlet (since i'm more serious on here)
i realized a couple weeks ago that i never really got on the twitter train and i never use insta
i legit am "old man yelling at cloud" now at these. the twitter stuff i really just realized with the active hive mind going on there. and insta is social media on steroids. i can't think of one legit reason to be dependent on insta for anything healthy
