Well it's gonna happen, even in the big 12.

Since you know the future of college football, can you give me the results of LSU, so I can adjust my expectations accordingly?

Wanna bet if Texas loses 3-4 games next season that people will become antsy with Herman?

I doubt it. They could lose 3-4 and he will still have time.

They're losing a hell of a lot on defense though.

Getting antsy, and firing the coach don't mean the same thing to me.

Just like I don't consider top notch to be elite.

Their composite talent rating is damn near the same. Might be 5-6 spots different.

Texas issue wasn't talent, it was simply attitude.

Texas was much more of a rebuild than LSU whether you admit it or not is irrelevant.

Well buddy, that's strange but you are definitely entitled to be wrong as much as anyone.

Gotcha

Ok, we have different standards for coaches regardless of talent, correct?

That's your problem, buddy. The definition is waiting out there for you.

The talk is always about next year. If you won the NC title yesterday it is still about next year. It is important to enjoy the game you are watching instead of worrying about the coaches, direction of the program, etc. If you don't you will never enjoy the games anyway.

Because this is "next year."

Certain individuals on here get really pissed when a poster mentions high expectations or standards he has for the team/program. It’s bizarre. O and staff have assembled a team that should be championship-caliber next season.

Obviously there are always unforeseen factors that must be taken into consideration but I don’t think it’s crazy to set the bar very high next year. I struggle to think of a scenario where going 9-3 or worse would be anything but extremely disappointing next year.

Let me try to spell it out more clearly.

I view Herman, like Will Wade. He doesn't have the crazy accomplishments to be elite yet, but almost every single team would love to have him coaching.

I view Saban, like Coach K. They have the skins on the wall, but no way you are getting them out of their current situation. They are elite.

So, change the word "top notch" to whatever you want to call it, my point still stands. And I thought I pretty clearly expressed that.

5-6 spots, is that all??

But did Texas recruit for need?? Lord knows that means more than simple rankings

So you credit Herman with changing the attitude of the UT program for the better?

Like an SEC West title? Because that's my expectation.

SEC West title and/or playoff appearance is my expectation as well. Careful, you might get attacked for that.

Well he did go 6-6 in 2017, and 8-4 in 2018, in the regular season. I think Maryland just scored again.

Yeah my standard is winning.

Texas wasn't doing alot of that when Herman got there.

Talent, mindset, tradition, philosophy and other stuff go into it.

I have no idea standarda and don't really care.Texas was more a rebuild than LSU.

Period.

I don't like Herman. I'm just pointing out the hypocricacy of others saying he isn't good, while arguing Orgeron is far superior, under the same breath.

But if he goes 10-2, he should be fired right?
