Moron the theme was whites getting rejected over POC despite similar academic achievement. The level of institution is interchangeable as it relates to the point of the op. Get your daughter to explain it to you.

Co-workers kid had 34 ACT and was waitlisted at Rice. Went to Mississippi State on a full ride. Now being paid to go to grad school.
The 32 ACT is nice, but won’t be a lock to get in at a lot of places. Sounds like the young man went into the process with unrealistic expectations. Hopefully, he finds the right fit.
