You're assuming the note has to drop through. It made it far enough out the hole to be grabbed by the person on the other side.

Regarding the notes, I'm sure someone will produce a screen capture showing them all, but the one that has been most clear says "Don't Listen." To what should she have not listened?

Yeah, I was a little confused on the notes. Are they saying the uncle was passing Julie the notes? The phone conversation where Julie calls into the 911 operator kinda makes me think that Tom really wasn't her Dad and maybe he was the one who had kidnapped her, or she could have just developed Stockholm Syndrome. IDK. This season has been confusing.

The “peephole” being used to pass notes was actually revealed 2 episodes ago, but they didn’t explicitly state it until now
