I think it's pretty clear that the second one-eyed man works, or worked, for the Hoyts. When they interviewed the first guy with one eye, he made it clear that folks that worked in the chicken or pig industry often ended up with a dead eye.

I don't know about that one-eyed guy playing AD&D with the kid(s). Game was relatively new at the time, and, if we are assuming "historical accuracy," a likely poor, middle-aged black guy in rural Arkansas wasn't the demographic for pen-and-paper RPGing back in 1980. Also, if it's accurate, there were two versions of the game then, the basic D&D and Advanced D&D. AD&D was usually for more experienced players. After all, the kid was making maps wand whatnot, so I'd think it's pretty clear he'd been playing for a while with someone.

That's probably not important, but the inclusion of D&D is neat as well as the throwaway(?) line concerning worry that kids are dying because of playing the game. Fits the theme of that time just like Season 1 touched on the "Satanic Panic" a bit.


Regarding the phone call...who all is up at the podium during the press conference that initiates Julie's call? There's no guarantee she meant Tom when she said "man pretending to be my father." Could have been anyone up there, including the future AG Kindt.

And it's clear from her drawings that she had been in, or told about in detail, the pink room before getting locked inside of it.

I'm also pretty curious about the true fate/current condition of Hays' daughter.

It's pretty clear that Pizzolato is still drawing on his Louisiana roots when providing names for things. Ardoin...Shoepick (though, not spelled how it's really spelled)...I believe there were a few others in there as well.

Looks like the book they showed wasn't an actual AD&D book...and the book itself may subtly "connect" Season 3 to Season 1 via the Cthulhu Mythos (Leng leads to Yellow King/Carcosa talk), according to this Reddit thread. (The artist that provided the artwork for the prop replies in the thread providing an Instagram link to a fuller shot of the art. There is a second book there as well, so may be a spoiler?)
